Porsche 911 GT3 RS receives Manthey aerodynamic kit to improve track performance (Instagram @manthey_racing)
Porsche is preparing an even more aerodynamic version of the 911 GT3 RS with the help of Manthey.
The main modification is the removal of the rear window, which is replaced with a lighter carbon fiber panel and a shark fin antenna inspired by the Porsche 963.
The rear spoiler has been redesigned to increase aerodynamic pressure, and the diffuser has also been enlarged. Additionally, the car features aerodynamic covers on the wheels and other changes to improve performance, including 30% more rigidity in the front springs and 15% in the rear springs.
The Manthey kit also includes new shock absorbers, race brake pads, and accessories such as body decals and LED projectors on the doors. The goal is to improve track performance, with a promise of over 1,000 kg of aerodynamic pressure at 285 km/h.
The update has undergone intense testing on European race tracks, and soon, Manthey hopes to improve the GT3 RS’s lap time at Nürburgring, which was 6 minutes and 49.32 seconds in 2022.
The new kit will be available to GT3 RS owners starting in January in EU countries and in March in regions outside the EU.
Although the price has not been disclosed, similar packages for other Porsche models, like the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, start at $53,946 in the United States, plus installation fees.
